On Friday, November 14, we gathered at The Hague Central Station to take the Flixbus to Brussels. The bus departed at 8:35 AM, and we arrived in the city around 12:00 PM.
In the early afternoon, around 3:00 PM, we helped at Community Kitchen, where we assisted in preparing meals for homeless people in Brussels.
Other volunteer activities were scheduled for Saturday. We were actually supposed to register in advance via the Serve the City app, but fortunately, we were still allowed to join and help.
We started again by preparing the meals. This week they consisted of pasta with carrots, corn, and tomato. We also offered a cup of tea and pumpkin soup; unfortunately, the coffee thermos was broken.
When all the meals were ready and packed, we filled the strollers. We also took bags with clean socks, underwear, hair ties, handkerchiefs, and other necessities. Then the group was divided into two teams, each of which would walk a different route. We went with Andrea and followed the route through the center.
We took the bus and got off at Place du Luxembourg, right across from the European Parliament.
